Introduction and welcome We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the MSc Computer Aided Design and Construction award, run from within the Architecture and Product Design Department. The programme is designed to provide students with advanced practical skills in Computer Aided Design for the construction industry and also looks at the more strategic role that CAD and ICT in general can play in todays construction industry. IT and CAD is playing an ever-increasing role in the construction industry, however there is a lack of professionals available with the skills to implement the technology effectively. The School of Engineering and the Built Environment is equipped with state of the art computer facilities. It has a dedicated Virtual Reality Centre, equipped with a 7 metre curved screen that projects virtual reality models in stereovision using the latest software in the field. This Pathway document aims to provide a helpful guide to the course and its structure. This is a very important time in your life. The outcome of your studies could affect the whole of your future career.
