Bournemouth Bournemouth is well-known as a healthy and attractive and modern resort, surrounded by gardens and pine forests, which is popular all year round. It stands on two small hills in the sheltered valley of the Bourne river, the banks of which are laid out as public gardens. There are excellent and extensive sandy beaches for bathing, and a long line of picturesque cliffs.
