课题 第 课时 计划上课日期 教学目标 The students will be able to master a number of words related to Personality by involving themselves in different activities. 教学重难点 Students are asked to make a list of the adjectives that describe personality.They are expected to enlarge their vocabulary in this section. 教学流程\内容\板书 Step 1 lead in Students and teacher play a guessing game: Who is he/she? Students are asked to guess who the teacher is through the given description of the teacher. 2. Teacher introduces the topic of today’s lesson: Adjectives to describe personality by focusing Students’ attention on the words about personalities in the descriptions. Step 2 Presentation of words describing personality Step 3 Introduction of Positive adjectives and Negative adjectives 1. T puts all the adjectives that come up in Step 2 into two categories. Category 1: generous helpful kind reliable cheerful happy lovely friendly cute clever warm-hearted strong-minded hard-working Category 2: foolish stubborn lazy jealous selfish cruel evil vain dishonest unkind bad-tempered 2. Teacher guides students to find out that all the adjectives in Category 1 refers to the good points in a person, but the adjectives in Category 2 all refer to the bad points in a person. Thus, the idea of “Positive” and “Negative” is introduced. 3. Students work in pairs and with the help of dictionaries try to find out whether the following are positive or negative: open-minded moody honest polite narrow-minded impolite boring determined happy rude 4. Brainstorming: Students are encouraged to think of as many positive and negative adjectives as possible to describe personality. Step 4 Introduction of synonyms and antonyms The idea of synonyms and antonyms is introduced by referring back to the discussion about the personalities of cartoon characters. Students try to tell the synonyms of : shy stro
