Take your time. 有人会抱怨现代科技令人变得不守时，往往在最后一刻才用手机或电邮通知要迟到，此时在另一端的你不妨大方点说：Take your time.（不用急，慢慢来），反正也迟到，拿你没办法。或者说：Its not urgent. Take your time./ No rush./ No hurry. 相反，如果是赶急的情况该说：Its urgent. / Rush hour. / Hurry up. 。 说到Take字，这个字用途非常广泛，例如：Take a nap.（小睡片刻）、Take a bath.（洗个澡）、Take a break.（小休一下）。 对话 A: Whats up with you? B: Im in a hurry. My flight leaves at 7:30 this morning. A: Dont worry. You can take a taxi and get to the airport in 30 minutes. Take your time. B: What if theres a traffic accident or a traffic jam? A: Its early. I dont think there will be much traffic. 甲：你在干吗？ 乙：我在赶时间，我要搭的班机今早7时半起飞。 甲：不用担心，你乘出租车30分钟就可以去到机场，不用急。 乙：如果有交通意外或塞车怎么办？ 甲：时间还早，我想交通不会太繁忙。 某乙说：My flight leaves at 7:30 this morning.（我要搭的班机今早七时半起飞）。用简单现在时动词（simple present tense）说未来的固定安排，前面谈过这用法，今不赘言。某甲见时间还早，就叫某乙Take your time，那是‘不用着急’的意思，例如：There is no real rush / hurry. Why not let her take her time?（还有时间，实在不必匆忙，为什么不由她慢慢来呢？）有时take ones time也有‘太慢’的含义，例如：The insurance company is rather taking its time over my claim.（保险公司处理我的索偿要求，未免太过慢吞吞）。 但某乙还是担心赶不及：What if theres a traffic jam?（万一交通阻塞，怎么办？）这What if两字值得注意。What if是‘假如．．．．那么怎样？’的意思，通常可用suppose / supposing　取代，例如：Supposing theres a traffic jam?用What if带出的子句，当然是假设子句(conditional clause)。但一般假设子句须和主要子句(main clause)连用，例如If he were late, we would be ruined.（假如他迟到，我们就完蛋了）；What if子句却习惯独立使用，例如：(1)What if he were late?(假如他迟到，那怎么办？）(2) What if I talk to here first?
