System in which the output has no effect on the input are known as open-loop system. For example: The motor is the dynamic unit and the speed of the motor is the output, as a variation of the speed cannot cause a change in the value of the armature voltage, the output has no influence on the input. This is an open-loop system. System in which the output has a direct effect on the input is called closed-loop system.
