Period 1 Introduction; Listening
教材分析
本模块介绍欧洲某些国家的名称、首都、语言、著名城市和文艺建筑, 要求学生进一步了解欧洲概况, 学会表达地理位置, 最终能以口头和笔头形式并借助照片, 通过杂志、报刊等媒介综合介绍中国某一区域。本节导入本模块的学习内容, 通过复习和学习一些国家的名称、首都、语言名称, 学习介绍这些国家地理位置的英语表达方法, 为进一步学习和表达其他国家和地区的地理位置打下基础。听力部分同样也引入地理知识, 让学生在听的过程中确定这些城市的地理位置, 并练习方位的表达。
三维目标
1. 知识与技能
1)Let students know the meanings of the new words and try to use them.
2)Train their listening skills.
3)Encourage students to talk about the names, capitals and languages of some European countries.
4)Make them know how to express location.
2. 过程与方法
1)Listening Activity to train their listening skills.
2)Encourage students to speak in class through organizing some pair or group work.
3. 情感与价值
Encourage students to learn about the world and in return it is of great help to their English learning.
教学重点
1. Motivate students to work together.
2. Listen carefully to catch the important points.
教学难点
1. Teach students to spot some countries on a map.
2. Describe the locations of some European countries.
教学方法
Individual or pair work to get every student to participate in class.
教学过程
→ Step 1 Lead-in
1. Lead the module in by asking students the following questions:
Which continent is China in?
How many continents are there in the world altogether? What are they?
2. Show a map of Europe to the whole class and tell them that this is what we will focus on in this module.
3. Have a brainstorm of what they have learned about Europe, its countries, famous sights, famous cities and so on.

Option One
Introduction is actually the warming-up of this module. This part mainly consists of two activities, which are designed to get students familiar with some European countries and to know some new words about the topic as well. To have a better effect, the teacher may combine the two activities.
1. Revise and learn the words in the box. The teacher may give a hand if necessary.
