Searching about the ProQuest PhD thesis data in recent years and undertaking text analysis, it is found that the American PhD Thesis in communication actually makes new progress by constantly laying new road signs, exploring communication and media related issues from the complex and vivid attention to the global problems, the state proposition, national affairs, social phenomena and the age fashions. Hence, it finds clues to the development of communication theory, by putting forward new theoretical questions, taking a variety of research methods and seeking new theoretical explanation. Regardless of its history, the scope of topics, developing trends, and even their existing problems, American PhD. Thesis, which is a representation of the highest academic achievement in doctoral education of communication studies, will bring new ideas and be helpful to Chinas communication academic research.
