Aphrodite Aphrodite was the beautiful daughter of Zeus and the goddess Dione. Ironically, she married Hephaestus, god of fire, out of duty rather than for love. Sadly, she was unfaithful to her husband most of the time. She had a love affair with Ares, the god of war. One day, finding the lovers sleeping together, Hephaestus caught them in an net and showed them to the gods, putting them to great shame. Artemis Artemis was the daughter of Zeus and Leto, the twin sister of Apollo. A Apollo was the god of the sun, she was the goddess of the moon. Artemis was also the goddess of hunting and wild animals. She loved to live in the woods, and to chase wild animals. She remained a virgin and was the symbol of chastity. She was believed to be the friend and protector of young women.
