Leicestershire Healthy Schools Programme Outline Primary School Drug Policy This policy outline is intended to support staff and colleagues in devising their primary school drug policy; the outline has been developed in line with ‘Drugs: Guidance for schools’ DfES 2004 and also includes examples of good practise from local primary schools. The italicised sections may be amended or copied directly according to need, but other sections will need to be original and reflect decisions made within each individual school. Examples of school drug policies from Leicestershire can be seen on the Leicestershire Healthy Schools Programme website which shows the variety of forms that a policy can take. Permission has been given by the schools concerned for wording to be used from their policies if this is useful to other schools.
