Shelton Coursework Assignment No: 01 Assignment Title: Design and Model Tele Truck Loader Weighting: 60% Issue Date: w/c 24th Oct 11 Hand-in Date: 17th February 12 Introduction Parametric modelling packages allow the engineer / designer to create flexible CAD models which can be used to modify designs. In addition some packages allow a basic animation to be produced showing the path of any moving parts. Any effective parametric model should also be supported by detailed documentation, which clearly states and explains the design intent behind the model together with details about the parametric relationships. Learning Outcomes On successful completion of the assignment, the student should be able to Apply the design intent towards full parametric Assembly and Modelling Techniques. Develop virtual solids and prove their characteristics in Advanced Modelling Techniques. The Brief Model Model (70%) You are being asked to produce a 3D CAD Model of Teletruck based on your student ID number (see below) using SOLIDWORKS 2011 (minimum sp3.0) software. You MUST perform the hand calculations to determine each component parameter (dimension) before creating the model. This must be a Stress Analysis calculation, using the load specified.
