The 16th Zhouzhuang Tourism Festival Opening Ceremony Time: 19:30, April 22. Venue: Water area around the North Gate Bridge of Zhouzhuang. Content: There have been 15 sessions of the Zhouzhuang International Tourism Festival since its inception in 1996. The 14th Tourism Festival in 2009 was held at the riverside of Loujiang River, Kunshan City. In 2010, the opening ceremony of the Tourism Festival was held at the Shanghai Expo. This year, it will join hands with Kunshan again and hold an opening ceremony party featuring both the ancient traditions and modern fashions of a Chinese water town. The opening ceremony will be held in the water area between the ancient stage and the North Gate Bridge and the neighboring area. The overall design of the stage will make full use of the town’s unique water and scenery to fully showcase the serenity, elegance, vigor, and trendiness of this magnificent water-based community. Venue: Zhouzhuang Boat Content: The 4th Forum on the Preservation Development of the Ancient Town of Zhouzhuang is an academic forum sponsored and supported by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the PRC and the China Committee of UNESCO, and organized by the Zhouzhuang Township Government.
