Current Catalog statement: “First of a three-course series of the Chinese herbal formulas including compositions, functions, and indications of commonly used formulas. Knowledge of diagnostics and Chinese Materia Medica is important to the study of this course. First course is an in-depth study of formulas that release the exterior, drain down, harmonize and clear heat.” (AOMA 2007-2008 Catalog). B. Pre-requisite: HT 0202 C. Personal Comment: I have been enjoying teaching this course. This is my favorite subject. It is my major for my Ph.D. This course is like a bridge between the foundations of TCM and the clinical practice. Students will learn so many formulas that are handed down from ancient TCM masters. It is exciting to show students the great formulas. The class will be a combination of lectures, presentation, case discussion, and student presentations. II. COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES A.
