2011 Competition Rules Electrolux Design Lab is a global design competition arranged by Electrolux. Participation is open to applicants from every country in the world who are registered undergraduate and graduate industrial design students. Registration is free and applicants must accept the competition conditions. By registering you accept the conditions below. Please observe–in particular– the conditions applicable to the intellectual property rights to the submitted competition entry (the “Work”). 1. The Brief for 2011Electrolux Design Lab 2011 invites industrial design students and recent industrial design graduates to create home appliances that consider intelligent mobility. Your ideas will shape how people prepare and store food, clean and do their dishes, both within and beyond the home. In particular we seek a design concept that will offer personalisation and inspires users whilst utilising existing technology to offer support and guidance. Additionally, and in keeping with the heritage of Electrolux, your Work concept should reflect Scandinavian Design values – being sensitive to the environment, providing intuitive ease of use and aesthetic appeal. Deadline: Sunday 1st May, 2011 (23:59.59 Central European Time). 2. Awards Acknowledgements A jury will select 3 winning entries that will receive cash prize awards. First Prize: 5,000 Euro and a six-month paid internship at an Electrolux global design centre. The components of this prize cannot be awarded separately. The cash prize shall be awarded upon completion of the internship. Second prize: 3,000 Euro. Third prize: 2,000 Euro. All cash prize awards are paid gross/before income tax. A selected number of students (students are persons who are officially registered as undergraduate or graduate — Bachelor’s or Master’s degree — students with a university at the time of submission of the design idea), will have their Work developed into a 1:1 full scale model of their design.
