Ea rt h Science F rontiers ,2009 ,16( 3) :2072219 Abstract : This paper gives t he integrated analyses of geot hermochro nology and tectonic system evolutio n of eastern Altyn Tagh Mo untains , nort hern Qinghai2Tibet Plateau. The eastern Altyn Tagh is considered to have developed f rom Archean co ntinental core , t hro ugh Proterozoic stable platform and continental rifting in t he Neo2Proterozoic , to Altyn Ocean and t rench2arc2basin system in t he Early Paleozoic plate subduction , colli2 sio nal orogeny and arc magmatism (wit h a peak activity at 443 Ma) occurred t hro ugh t he Ordovician and t he Early Silurian.
