Lesson objectives:
1.Review some words and expressions of this unit: gentleman / organizer / organize /suppose / repeat / attend / expert / medical / funny / unable / world-famous / lady/ college / serious / conference / attention / introduction / throat / earn / note / joke /a. m. / p. m. / out o f breath / get through and send out.
2. Review the usage of the following modal verbs: must, may (not), might (not), cant,could when expressing something certain, possible or impossible.
3.Review the following expressions of communication: Can you ring up … ? / I cantget through. / The Lines busy./ Ill try again later./ Could I speak to … , please?/ Hold on please. / Can I take a message? / This is … speaking. / Can you ask …to ring me back, please? / Ill ask … to call you.
Teaching aids: a computer, a recorder, etc.
Teaching procedure:
A.Words and expressions
Review the words and expressions of this unit by playing games and doing exercises.
1.Show the computer software. Here are three letter trees, in each of which there are some letter apples. Try to pick these letter apples and form new words of this unit.Some letters have been given. First let students do it by themselves, and five minutes later ask some of them to report their answers to the class. (in Ss AB Ex.Ⅰ)
Answers: repeat; earn; note; /suppose; serious; /throat; college.
2.Show the computer software. Let students play the game: fishing. There are six expressions which stand for six kinds of food for fish. You can use different kinds of food to get fish with different numbers and words. (in Ss AB Ex. Ⅱ)
