SYMANTEC SYSTEM CENTER CONSOLE, SYMANTEC ANTIVIRUS REMOTE DISCOVERY CLIENT INSTALLATION INSTALL AND SETUP OF THE SYMANTEC SYSTEM CENTER CONSOLE Install the Symantec System Center Console (SSC), which can be found on the Symantec AntiVirus CD. (The SSC Console install by itself is located in the TEKCopy folder, which can be found on most of the file servers throughout the Corporation- SSC10_1_8) Click “Install Symantec AntiVirus” Click “Install Symantec System Center” Click Next  Check Accept and then Click Next Leave the default boxes checked and Click Next Leave the default installation path set and Click Next Begin the installation by Clicking Install Once the installation has completed Click Finish The installer must reboot your PC so Click Yes After your PC has completed its reboot, find the Symantec System Center Console in your Programs listing and open the console. Once the console has opened, Click the + sign next to Symantec System Center, and then highlight System Hierarchy. You should now have a Tools item showing in the menu bar. Drop it down and select Symantec System Center Console Options. On the Virus Alert Filter tab make sure “Display the infected state of each client…” is checked. Select the Client Display tab and check “Show client computers when viewing client groups.” You’ll receive the following warning, just Click Yes Now make sure that the “Indicate when clients are offline more than __ minutes” is checked and Click OK Back at the main console screen, click the + sign next to System Hierarchy. You should see the BS AV group show up. Highlight this group, and right click. Choose Unlock Server Group. The user is: administrator the password is sym@nt3c NOTE: If you do not want to enter this information each time SSC starts up, you can check the bottom two boxes to Remember the user and password Automatically unlock.
