Unit1 Living with technology Welcome to the unit教学设计 单 元:Unit1 Living with technology 板 块:Welcome to the unit Thoughts on design: 根据该板块的设计意图和功能,本课时的教学设计旨在激活学生与单元话题有关的已有知识,引导学生联系自己的亲身经历进行相关话题的讨论,帮助学生为后面其它板块的学习积累信息并同时进行词汇准备,调动学生继续学习本单元其它板块的积极性。学生的学习活动以听说为主,学习内容包括:与现代科技及家用电子产品相关的词汇,与此话题相关的生活经历的讨论和交流,对现代科技带来的变革如何全面认识,提升他们的批判性思维能力和对不同观点的尊重与包容等。 Teaching aims: students will be able to list the electrical appliances and electronic devices they have at home; students will be able to talk about how modern technology affects their lives; students will be able to take an overall attitude and discuss its advantages and disadvantages; students will be able to use their imagination to create the ideas of their own invention. Teaching procedures: Step 1 Warming up Can you make a list of the electrical appliances and electronic devices you have at home? electrical appliances: a machine, usually one that is electrical, that is used for doing jobs in the home, such as washing clothes or cooking. Most homes now have numerous electrical appliances, from dishwashers to microwave ovens. electronic devices: a usually small piece of equipment, especially advanced electronic equipment. Some cars are fitted with a safety device which won’t let the car start unless passengers are wearing seat belts.
