To know the right from wrong and know how to avoid mistakes in the composition.
To be more aware of the structure of a composition.
2. Learning objectives of the strategy
Be able to find out the problems existed and try to solve them.
Get a better understanding through group work.
3. Emotional objectives
Be not afraid of making mistakes and try to avoid them.
Have a better relationship with the members through group work and get a better understanding of English composition. Ⅲ. Important points and difficult points 1. To improve the ability of correcting mistakes through practice.
2. To know how to use correct sentences to form a composition. Ⅳ. Analysis of students The students in Grade 3 are not familiar with error correction exercises and they can not get a satisfying mark. They also often make mistakes in compositions and they can not recognize them when revising the compositions. Ⅴ. Teaching methods 1. Task-based method to make students interested in what they will learn.
2. Self study and discussion method to make students discover and share the discovery. Ⅵ. Teaching procedures Procedures Contents Activities Introduction I. Sentence correction Ten sentences from their compositions. There is one mistake in each sentence. Have a discussion in groups of four to find out the mistakes. Check the answers together and explain the reasons. I made a record of all the mistakes appeared in the students’ compositions and listed some typical mistakes for them to correct. They will be able to avoid these mistakes in their compositions. Ⅱ. Passage correction A passage with 10 mistakes in it which is similar to the error correction in an exam. Do it in a fixed time and then have a discussion. Find a reporter to give a presentation. This exercise is to
