Introduction
Introduction:
This workshop demonstrates the procedure for creating a model from a sketch.
Prerequisites:
This workshop assumes that you have some experience with DesignModeler, and that you are familiar with the graphical user interface.
Preparation:
Copy the file “WS2_Initial.wbpz” to your working directory.
Goals

Extrude
Delete
Decomposition for Meshing Purposes.

Multibody Part
Create the Workbench Project:
Start Workbench R13.
This will open the Workbench Project Page.
From the File Menu, select Restore Archive.
Select “WS2_Initial.wbpz”.
Workbench will request a project name and restore the archived project to your working directory. Set the name as “WS2”.
Starting Workbench
Open the existing DesignModeler Session:
Click RMB the Geometry Cell and select Edit Geometry.
This will open the existing DM session containing the sketch (from Workshop 1).
Ensure Modelling Mode is selected.
In the tree outline highlight XYPlane and Zoom to Fit.
This will display the existing sketch.
Starting DesignModeler
Revolving a Sketch:
Sketches are used as the base for 3D objects.
Highlight Sketch1 and select the Revolve feature.
The complete list of DM tools is available within the Create, Concept and Tools menus. Common tools (such as Revolve) are displayed in the GUI.
This will insert a Revolve feature in the tree outline.
The symbol next to the feature icon means that it is not yet generated.
Features are numbered incrementally as they are created.
A Feature can be renamed for ease of reference by clicking RMB.
Modelling Operations
Revolving a Sketch (Continued):
Before any feature can be generated its parameters must be defined.
The Details View lists all the required parameters that define the feature.
The Base Object is already defined as Sketch1.
The DM status bar will prompt for the next required input.
