PIPE59 Immersed Pipe or Cable MP ME ST PP Product Restrictions PIPE59 Element Description PIPE59 is a uniaxial element with tension-compression, torsion, and bending capabilities, and with member forces simulating ocean waves and current. The element has six degrees of freedom at each node: translations in the nodal x, y, and z directions and rotations about the nodal x, y, and z-axes. The element is similar to PIPE16 except that the element loads include the hydrodynamic and buoyant effects of the water and the element mass includes the added mass of the water and the pipe internals.
