THE POTATO, THE EGG AND THE　COFFEE BEAN马铃薯，鸡蛋和咖啡豆 Put three pots of water over the fire.火上煮的着三锅水。 * ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????  In the first pot, put some potatoes. 在第一个锅中放入一些马铃薯。 In the second pot, put some eggs. 在第二锅中放入一些鸡蛋。 In the third pot, put some coffee beans that have been grounded into coffee powder.在第三个锅中放入一些磨好的咖啡。 Boil all three pots for 15 minutes. Take out what you put in. 煮15分钟，把放进去的东西取出来。 The potatoes went in hard. They are now soft. 马铃薯开始是硬的，现在软了。 The eggs went in soft inside. Now they are hard inside. 开始时，鸡蛋里面是软的， 现在里面变硬了。 But the water has the colour and the wonderful smell of coffee. 但是水的颜色变了，并且有好闻的味道。 The coffee powder has disappeared. 咖啡消失了。 Now think about life. 现在想一想生活。 Life is not always easy. Life is not always comfortable. Sometimes life is very hard. 生活不总是容易的， 生活不总是舒适的， 有时候生活是艰难的。 We work very hard but get few results. What happens when we face difficulties? 我们努力工作但是很少有结果。 在我们面对困难时发生了什么呢？ Things don’t happen like we wish. People don’t treat us like we hope. 事情不总是象我们期待的那样发生。 人们不总是象我们希望的那样对待我们。 Now think about the pots. 现在想一想三个锅。 The boiling water is like the problems of life. 煮沸的水就象生活中的难题。 We can be like the potatoes. 我们可以象马铃薯一样。 We go in tough and strong. 我们坚韧和强硬地走进生活。 We come out soft and weak. 却虚弱无力地走出生活。 We get very tired. We lose hope. We give up. There is no more fighting spirit. 我们感到非常疲惫、感到无望、自我放弃、失去斗志。 Don’t be like the potatoes! 因此，不要象马铃薯那样！ We can be like the eggs. 我们可以象鸡蛋那样。 We start with a soft and sensitive heart. 我们以敏感的内心 走入生活。 We end up very hard and unfeeling inside. 却变得冷酷无情。 We hate others. We don’t like ourselves. We become hard-hearted. There is no warm feeling, only bitterness. 我们相互憎恨， 不喜欢彼此， 没有热情，只有痛苦。 Don’t be like the eggs! 因此，不要象鸡蛋那样！ We can be like the coffee beans. 我们可以象咖啡豆那样。 The water does not change the coffee powder. 水不能改变咖啡。 The coffee powder changes the water!咖啡却改变了水！ The water has become different because of the coffee powder. 水因为咖啡变得不同。 See it.看一看。 Smell it.闻一闻。
