Guide students to talk about their own parties. Use their prior knowledge to talk about their experiences about parties. T---S S---S Arouse the Ss’ interest. Ss go through the messages and finish the task. T---S Enforce a time limit on the skimming. The idea of skimming is not only to get the gist of the messages but also to increase the speed of reading. 5’---7’ Have the students read the third message. (I should develop questions that involve students looking for exact information in the messages in a competitive type format.) Ss read the third message and get some specific information. Help students to know the form of an invitation including who, why, when, where and how. 5’---8’ Ss will be asked to read the first and the second messages and fill in the blanks.
