……………………. ………………. ………………… The Importance of Globalization in the Development of English In Terms of the International Business Negotiation Abstract: In the 1980s, especially the 1990s, the process of economic globalization is becoming more and more rapidly. So, as to comply with the current of economic globalization, China joined WTO in 2001. Therefore, we should have a correct understanding of cultural differences, geographical differences and differences in attitude towards the negotiations.English is the most common language in international business negotiations. For business negotiations are concerned, the use and mastery of English language proficiency is one of the necessary negotiation skills. Therefore, this thesis firstly gives a brief introduction of globalization including the developing process and its effects for the world, then comes the phenomenon of the globalization of English. After that, the thesis elaborates the international business and negotiation in details, besides, cultural differences between China and western countries are concerned in the thesis. At last, the importance of English in international business negotiation is elaborated in details because international business negotiation is one of the most typical and important part of globalization. Key words: globalization; international business; negotiation; cultural differences 全球化现象对英语发展的重要性 从国际商务谈判的角度谈及 摘要：上世纪80年代以后，特别是进入90年代，世界经济全球化的进程大大加快了。为顺应经济全球化的潮流，中国于2001年加入WTO。因此，必须正确认识国际商务谈判中的文化差异、地域差异以及谈判态度的差别。英语是国际商务谈判中最通用的语言。对商务谈判者来说，熟练运用和掌握英语是必须具备的谈判技巧之一。因此，本文首先由全球化现象谈起，对其发展历程和影响作了简短的综述，紧接着谈到了英语全球化的现象。然后，本文详细阐述了国际商务与谈判的概念，同时还穿插了东西方文化差异的内容。最后，作为全球化现象的典型表现形式，本文对英语在国际商务谈判中的作用进行了详细地阐述。 关键词：全球化；国际商务；谈判；文化差异 1、Introduction In the information age, the process of economic globalization is becoming more and more rapid.
