1. ahead:
1) plan ahead: you make plans about what you may do in the future.
2. along:
1) a project is coming along: it is making progress
2) a job is dragging along: the speaker thinks it is taking him a long time to do it
3) you bring along a friend to a party: you bring them with you
4) you go along with a plan: you agree with it and accept it
3. apart:
If two people grow apart, their relationship becomes less close as they develop separate intesests.
4. around:
1) loll around: you spend time being lazy and doing nothing
2) spin around: turn quickly and face in the opposite direction
3) if you talk around a subject, you avoid talking about it directly
4) a discussion centre around or revolve around a subject: concentrate on that subject
5. aside:
1) if you brush aside someone’s comments, you reject or ignore what they say
2) if you lay aside a book, you place it somewhere near you until you are ready to read it again
3) if you leave aside a suggestion, you do not deal with it immediately because you intend to consider it or discuss it later
