Notice of holding 2012 Chinese bridge safety and strengthening conservation summit All relevant unit: In recent years the bridge collapse accidents have occurred in some countries, not only make people worried, but also cause attention of every government and world bridge engineering circle. Bridge engineering structure safety and reliability and its related technology, management and investment legislation, have become the focus of the world. It is not only the technical issues that developing countries face, but also the problems which developed countries need to be solved. With the development of our country highway bridge construction and the increase of highway and bridge, many bridges are going into maintenance and repair period as expert thinks bridges over 25-year-old are into the aging period. According to statistics, about 40% of the total number of bridges in our country belongs to this category-the aging bridge. As time goes on, the number of aging bridge is still in constant growth, the safety of bridges and bridge maintenance work are imminent.
