Result showed that farmland arωdecreased rapirlly in Jintai anrl Weibin Distric悦。f Baoji City from 1988 to 2∞4 ， while the garden land increa.~ed greatly. At the same time, residential area and industrial and mining land usc enhanced in a great deal. Woodland 民howed reducing tendency and unused land had the trend of enlarged. Water area had lillle changes. On the basis of analysis, soci阳conomic driving mechanism was revealed from the factors íncluding populalion ，凹)lícy and urbanizatíon.
