In 2008, I had the pleasure of meeting Zhengxiang at an awards ceremony where he was recognized as “Outstanding Freshman”. After the ceremony, he suggested to me that the school should have more community activities in order to help build each student’s social skills. Previously, most students here were not concerned with school activities and chose to focus on college and the college entrance exam. Therefore, only a few clubs and social organizations existed. Zhengxiang explained to me that he wanted to make a difference at our school and help students become more well-rounded. Immediately, I knew that Zhengxiang was a natural-born leader with a tremendous amount of social responsibility. As the principal of Zaozhuang No. 3 Middle School for over 15 years, I have seen many students pass through my school, but very few exhibit the leadership potential that he does. I have witnessed Zhengxiang establish several useful organizations at our school and in the community. Some of his most impressive work has been his involvement in creating the Zaozhuang City Model United Nations Association in 2008. Zhengxiang’s participation in the MUNA has highlighted one of his most surprising qualities, a high level of maturity.
