Unit 1 Living with technology 与科技同行; 没有刹车线的自行车，你见过吗？如果遇到紧急情况，它又是怎样刹车的呢？ 　　Computer scientists at Saarland University, Germany, have developed a wireless bicycle brake which they say could revolutionize control systems. ;　　The brake does away with the cable that would usually be found running down the fork holding the bicycle’s front wheel. It works like a wireless mouse. The rider simply squeezes the pressure-sensitive handle to brake and the electronics do the rest. 　　The more tightly the handle is clenched, the harder the disk brake on the front wheel works. 　　The scientists say their calculations have proved the brake system’s reliability is so good that it could be used to control systems in aircraft, trains and factories. ;　　The sender is fixed in a blue plastic box which is the size of a cigarette packet and is attached to the handle.
