Make the students master the usages of “abandon, bother and some phrases made up of the word turn” Teaching important and difficult points: The basic and important knowledge of this unit and do some reading about topics related to the Internet and its positive and negative uses. Teaching methods: self-learning and cooperating, discussing, guiding Teaching procedures: Step 1: 5minutes for reading Step 2: Words and phrases checking Check the memorizing work by translating 10words and 10 phrases. The check form is to have a competition. Step 3: About sentence patterns 1. Ask three students to read the three sentences loudly and translate the sentences. 2. Ask students to have a discussion in groups about what sentence structure the three sentences use. 3. Let one student in each group to hand in the discussion result. 4. Comment on the students’ work. Praise the excellent work and make some corrections if necessary. 5. A test to help the students grasp the sentence patterns better. Step 4: Usages of the important words 1. Emphasize the importance of the usages of the words. 2. Check if the students can memorize the useful expressions concerning the words. 3. Give some practice to check if they have grasp the words. Step 5: Reading practice 1. Ask some students to show their work. 2. Comment on the work and list any mistake on the blackboard for the students to discuss and correct. Give students some help if necessary. 3. A summary to make students go over something about the Internet and its positive and negative uses.
