Period 5 Speaking The General Idea of This Period： This period aims at getting the students express themselves what they think of some kinds of music and musicians. Teaching Aim： Enable the students to express what they think of some kind of music and some musicians. Teaching Procedures： Step 1 Revision Check students’ application form for Inter-school music festival.Interview different groups to see who play what instrument and who sing. Step 2 Warming up：Task one：Choose a manager Suppose the students now have been admitted to take part in the Music Festival.They get a big hit in the festival and their performances are enjoyed by many people.Then they get the reward successfully.Now，they have to find a manager to handle their business.Ask them to choose one person to be their manager.They are also needed to tell the reason why they would like him/her to be the manager for their band. T：So you have been admitted to take part in the Music Festival.Then what you need now is a good and trusted manager.Who would you like to be your manager? S1：I would choose my good friend—Lily as our band’s manager.Because she is patient and considerate，she can organize our performance well. S2：I would prefer my mother to be the manager for our band.Because she is my mother，we can totally depend on her and trust her. S3：I would prefer us to be the manager for our own band.Because we know ourselves best，we can arrange our schedule properly.We know what we can do and what we like to do.
