过去分词在句中作状语为历年高考的重要考点之一。学习时要注意与其逻辑主语之间的关系, 以及与引导状语从句的连接词之间的关系。;用所给词的适当形式填空, 并探究其在句中的功能

结论: 过去分词在句中作_____。; 一、作状语的过去分词具有副词的特征, 一般用于修饰谓语动词, 进一步说明谓语动词的动作和状态, 即谓语所表示的动作发生时的背景状况;【名师点津】(1)过去分词作状语可表示时间、原因、方式、条件、结果、让步等。
(2)过去分词作状语, 通常情况下其逻辑主语是句子的主语, 它们之间存在着逻辑上的被动关系, 且分词动作往往已经完成。
(3)作状语的过去分词大多可以转化成相应的状语从句或者并列分句。; 1. 过去分词作时间状语时, 可转换为when, while或after等引导的时间状语从句。
﹡Seen from the top of the hill, the town looks more beautiful. =When it is seen from the top of the hill, the town looks more beautiful.
从山顶往下看, 这座城镇看起来更加漂亮。
﹡Visited several times, the city has impressed him much. =After it has been visited several times, the city has impressed him much.
参观了几次之后, 这座城市给他留下了深刻印象。; 2. 过去分词作条件状语时, 可转换为if, once或unless等引导的条件状语从句。
﹡Given more time, I can finish the work on time. =If I am given more time, I can finish the work on time.
多给点时间, 我就能按时完成工作。; 3. 过去分词作原因状语时, 可转换为由since、 because或as引导的原因状语从句, 这类状语多放在句子前半部分。
﹡Encouraged by his dream, the student works harder. =As he is encouraged by his dream, the student works harder.
由于受到梦想的激励, 那个学生更加勤奋地学习。; 4. 过去分词作让步状语时, 可转换为although, though或even if/though等引导的让步状语从句。
﹡Defeated by his opponent, he never gave up any hope.
=Although he was defeated by his opponent, he never gave up any hope.
尽管被对手击败, 但是他从没放弃希望。; 5. 过去分词作方式或伴随状语时, 通常不能转换为状语从句, 但可用并列分句代替。
﹡ The president of the company came to the factory, followed by some workers.
=The president of the company came to the factory, and he was followed by some workers.
