Step I Revision
Ask students to look at the following sentences and tell the function of the clauses.

I wonder when Mark will get there.

T: From the above sentences, we can learn clauses can function as an object. Today we are going to learn other functions that clauses perform in sentences.
Step II Grammar
Deal with Grammar exercises.
The predicative clause
Show the following on the PowerPoint.
My feeling is (that) they’re going to be big one day.
I feel that they’re going to be big one day.
My belief is (that) he’s got a healthy problem.
My opinion is (that) it’s getting better and better.

Help students to get the conclusion that the underlined phrases are a way of emphasizing that something is our belief and opinion. The above clauses work as a predicative. These clauses are called predicative clauses.
Deal with the Predicative clause exercises in Ex 2 on Page 18.
