Module 6 War and Peace
Period One:

A.Knowledge and skills
1) Get the students to learn and grasp the following important useful new words and expressions in the part:
abandon, drown, last, occupy, wound, declare war on, make a breakthrough pick up, from where
2) Learn the language in this part and get the students to read the passages “The D-Day landings”
B.Process and methods
1) Talking about the quotations about war and peace of “Great Persons”
2) Discuss the war and peace in the twentieth century
3) Read passage in several ways

Learning to think about the war and the world

(1)Ask Ss the following questions:
Q1.Do you remember the war between America and Iraq? Can you say something about it?
Q2.What do you think the war will bring? What’S your feeling about the war?
Suggested Answers:
Various answers are acceptable.(Teacher can introduce two words for Ss to express their feelings.They are“horror”and“terrible”.1
(2)Let Ss say which one they prefer,War or peace and explain why.
For your reference:

②I’m for War,because we can sell weapons and get more lands.
