IDE MPLAB ICD 2 USB Device Driver First Time Installation For Windows? 2000 and XP 32 OSs To use MPLAB ICD 2 with USB communications, the following steps MUST be taken in order to properly install the device drivers.? Before You Begin Determine your method of communication between the ICD and the PC. Serial port communication - No driver installation is needed. Plug in the serial cable and set up communications in MPLAB IDE. USB communication - Follow the instructions listed here. If you have already preinstalled the drivers during MPLAB IDE installation, read USB Preliminaries and then jump to Step 4. Otherwise follow all instructions.
