Methods JAR cells were cultured and passaged in the role of different concentrations of 5 Fu in JAR cells, MTT observed 5 Fu on JAR cell growth inhibition, apoptosis rate by flow cytometry, reverse transcriptase polymerase chain (RT PCR) and Western blot technique (Western blot) to detect survivin gene and expression. Results 5 Fu on the growth of JAR cells inhibited in a dose and time dependent, 5 Fu induced apoptosis of JAR cells, the apoptosis rate increased with the concentration, 5 Fu role of survivin gene and protein expression after reduced, with the concentration increases. Conclusion 5 Fu may be by reducing the level of survivin expression and induce apoptosis in JAR cells. Methods The choriocarcinoma cell JAR strain was chosen in this study. The inhibitory effects of chemotherapeutical drug 5 Fu on JAR strain were assayed with MTT method. Apoptosis was detected by AnnexinV / PI test. Expression of survivin was detected by reverse transcriptase PCR and Western blot. Results 5 Fu inhibited the JAR cell growth in a dose and time dependent manner. 5 Fu caused the apoptosis of JAR cell in a concentration dependent manner. Survivin gene and protein decreased with the increase of 5 Fu. Conclusion The decrease of the expression of survivin may play a critical role in JAR cell apoptosis induced by 5 Fu.
