Analysis of surgical treatment of traumatic diaphragmatic rupture
[Abstract] Objective: To explore the traumatic experience of surgical treatment of diaphragmatic rupture and reduce the rate of misdiagnosis. Methods: Retrospective analysis of 18 cases of traumatic diaphragmatic rupture, and the patient’s injuries mechanisms, diagnosis and surgical treatment after the methods and prognosis analysis. Results: 18 patients underwent repair all cured, in which two cases of postoperative empyema, gastric fistula in 1 case, wound infection in 2 cases, subphrenic abscess in 1 case. The active and integrated symptomatic treatment were soon discharged. Conclusions: Patients should be injured in the mechanism, injury location, symptoms, signs and laboratory examinations organically combine a comprehensive analysis, to reduce misdiagnosis rates, but once diagnosed, emergency surgery immediately to improve patient survival.

Traumatic diaphragmatic rupture in clinical relatively rare, but often combined with severe injuries, open chest and abdomen injury or direct or indirect violence blunt chest and abdominal injuries can be caused by traumatic diaphragmatic rupture. This retrospective analysis of our hospital in January 1990 ~ December 2005 admitted 18 cases of traumatic diaphragmatic rupture clinical data, accounting for 2.85% of chest trauma over the same period (18/631), are now on their treatment experience the following analysis.
