Methods The short form Parenting Stress Questionnaire (Chinese Version) (parenting stress index  short form, PSI  SF) and the basic conditions of self-compiled questionnaire to the 420 randomly selected group of Nanjing infants and their mothers for 6 months to investigate and compare the analysis. The results of the mother’s educational level was negatively correlated with parental stress; the baby’s sex, family income and mother’s age and the mother’s parental pressure difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion In early childhood, mother’s level of education that affect their rights to parental pressure, an important factor. [Keywords:] parental pressure; infants; mothers; literacy [Abstract] Objective To assess the maternal parenting stress of mothers of six  month  old infants in urban Nanjing and to analyze the related factors.Method Parenting Stress Index  Short Form (Chinese Version) and demographic information were conducted among the mothers of 420 infants (6 months), randomly selected in 11 urban districts of Nanjing.Results The educational level of mothers was negatively correlated with maternal parenting stress. The gender of infants, income of the family and age of mothers had no significant correlation with maternal parenting stress . Conclusion The educational level of mothers of infants has influence on parenting stress.
