[Keywords:] Colon; heat tolerance; thermal injury [Abstract] Objective To investigate the thermoresistant difference at different regions of colonic circumference.Methods A gland count method was used to detect the gland number at different regions of colonic circumference after heating.Results The results showed that the gland number of colon when heated to 43 for 30 minutes decreased markedly in far mesenteric region than those in control group (P lt;0.01). However, when heated to 44 for 30 minutes the difference between mesenteric side region and the same region in control group was significant. In addition , for the 43 and 44 groups, the gland number in far side of mesenteric region of colon decreased markedly than that in near mesenteric region (P lt;0.01). Conclusion The colonic tissue in far mesenteric region has obviously lower heat to tolerance than in near mesenteric region.
