Methods A retrospective analysis of 125 cases of floating knee treatment and healing, results in different sub-types and availability of associated injuries, choose a different treatment methods and timing of, and determine the postoperative functional exercise time and method, and thus the future knee restoration of joint function and injuries of the initial changes in the body produce different effects. Results All patients were followed up for 12 to 40 months, early one operation were excellent and good rate was 89.5%, sub-second operation by 50%. Intramedullary nail fixation of knee joint functional recovery is good, the most satisfactory results. Conclusion floating knee injury is a high-energy injury, systemic complications should be actively treated at the same time, strive for early surgical treatment, prevent complications, and according to the type of fracture choose the right fixed program. Intramedullary nail is an ideal approach.
