Methods Determination of total alkaloids by ultraviolet spectrophotometry content, high-performance liquid chromatography determination of berberine hydrochloride content. Results Emei wild with roots, fibrous roots, leaves and petioles, contain alkaloids and berberine. Conclusion wild with the shoots contain higher total alkaloids and berberine on the endangered species and the protection of tissue culture to provide theoretical guidance. MethodsThe total alkaloid and berberine contents were determined by UV and HPLC methods respectively. ResultsRhizome, fibre, lamina and petiole organs obtain alkaloid and berberine contents. ConclusionThe comparatively high contents in total alkaloid and berberine in the overground organs of Coptis omeiensis may provide guidance for tissue culture and resource protection.
