Methods Western blot in 36 patients with suspected lung cancer in exfoliated cells of pleural effusion were detected the expression of Grp78, and pleural fluid cytology test results examination results and clinical pathological data of the control. Grp78 results of Western blot analysis showed that 21 patients with high expression, through clinical observation and pathological examination, 19 patients were clinically diagnosed as lung cancer, Grp78 expression was low in 15 patients, no cases were diagnosed as lung cancer, the sensitivity was 90%, specificity was 85.7%, while the use of traditional methods of detection of 36 cases of lung cancer patients with pleural effusion suspected for cytology, 12 patients suspected of lung cancer, after a clinical and pathological examinations 4 cases were excluded, sensitivity was 47%, specificity was 85%. Conclusion The detection of suspected cases of lung cancer in exfoliated cells of pleural effusion expression level of Grp78 can improve the sensitivity of the differential diagnosis of lung cancer, breast cancer is conducive to the early diagnosis and differential diagnosis.
