Methods A retrospective analysis in December 2003 ~ May 2005 were treated by ureteroscopic holmium laser treatment of complex ureteral stones clinical data of 87 cases. 87 cases were associated with ipsilateral mild to moderate hydronephrosis, 46 cases with distal ureteral stones narrow, 69 cases complicated with polyps or granulation tissue packages, 21 patients after ESWL treatment failure. Results of 87 cases in 83 cases of single-gravel operation successful, a single stone crushing operation rate of 95.4% (83/87), two cases of holmium laser lithotripsy for stones in the process of shift in the calyceal, after re-ESWL treatment; when the ureter into the mirror one cases of perforation, 1 case of intraoperative ureteral mucosal avulsion when the mirror back into open surgery. Conclusion ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy for treatment of complex ureteral calculi is safe and effective, especially for extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy in patients with poor results.
