Method β-sitosterol in Rhizoma Heterosmilacis Japonicae was determined by HPLC. Chromatographic column was sinachrom ODS-BP 5 μm column (4.6 mm × 250 mm) . Mobile phase was methanol-0.1% H3PO4 liquor. Detection wavelength was 210 nm. Flow rate was 1.0 mL / min. Result β-sitosterol showed a good linear curve in the range of 0.22 ~ 8.8 μg (r = 1.000 0). The average recovery was 96.5% with RSD of 1.15%. Conclusion The method was accurate and reproducible, and can be used to control the quality of Rhizoma Heterosmilacis Japonicae.
