[Keywords:] total hip arthroplasty
Total hip replacement (total hip arthroplasty, THA) has been successfully used in orthopedic surgery 40 years, leave the body the survival rate of 15 to 90% [1], in this period of time, the continuous development of surgical techniques and postoperative recovery time also been reduced. In recent years, many reported a small incision THA technique, the average skin incision of only 6 ~ 10 cm. preliminary study shows that this technology compared with traditional surgery, the blood loss, postoperative pain and recovery reflect the advantage of making the technology more and more attention. Even if the patient meets these conditions, the doctor must also inform the patient may be based on intraoperative conditions to extend the incision, not because of the small incision and deliberately over-stretch the pursuit of soft tissue, or lead to poor prosthetic position.
Brett R [2] proposed a minimally invasive THA absolute contraindications: (1 diseases requested an extension of incision total hip arthroplasty, the initial complex total hip arthroplasty, acetabular dysplasia Crowe 3,4 level, the acetabulum severe deformity, (2) surgery, osteotomy nonunion, or surgery, remove the prosthesis, (3) surgery requires the use of bone cement prosthesis, osteoporosis, metastatic carcinoma, (4) bone and joint stiffness, (5) morbid obesity.
