METHODS: We counted M. vaccae by UV spectrophotometry, wet weight measurement and plate count method, and built up two standard curves. One was drawn according to the results of UV spectrophotometry to plate count and the other was humid weight to plate count. RESULTS: We built up two standard curves with the results of UV spectrophotometry and wet weight, to plate count, respectively. The analysis of accuracy rating proved that there was an approximal linear correlation between the two standard curves ranging from 105/mL to 108/mL. CONCLUSION: The method is dependable, and can be used for quick counting of M. vaccae.
