Methods 50 guinea pigs were randomly divided into 5 groups, normal control group, model group and dexamethasone group, high and low doses of decoction of Prince Edward health Ⅱ group, OVA sensitized and successfully induced asthma, were fed with physiological saline, dexamethasone, high and low doses of Prince Edward health Ⅱ decoction for 15 d. guinea pig blood count with plate counts, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), bronchial wall of the EOS number of radioimmunoassay in BALF ET 1 content. The results compared with the asthma model group, Prince Edward decoction of the high dose group health Ⅱ BALF and bronchial wall can reduce the number of the EOS (P lt;0.05), lower levels of ET 1 in the BALF (P lt;0.01). Conclusions Prince Jian Ⅱ decoction may be infiltration by reducing the EOS, ET 1 production, reduce chronic airway inflammation.
