Methods 261 patients with esophageal cancer surgery using a paired design to be divided into two groups, slow-release agent group 135 patients, patients radical surgery in the esophagus using 5 - fluorouracil sustained release local chemotherapy and postoperative conventional chemotherapy; control group 126 patients, radical surgery in esophageal cancer with conventional chemotherapy (5 - FU + mitomycin + cisplatin). two All patients were followed up for 2 years, observed adverse reactions, tumor recurrence rate and mortality rate. Results were compared with the control group, sustained release in patients without obvious side effects, less recurrence, mortality is low. Conclusion Intraoperative 5 - fluorouracil sustained release effect is obvious, can reduce the recurrence and metastasis, the patient was well tolerated, expected to increase the efficacy of radical surgery of esophageal cancer. During the radical resection of esophageal carcinoma, sustained- release5-FU implantation and routine chemotherapy was performed in 135 cases. The remaining 126 cases were treated with routine chemotherapy after radical resection. Patients in the two groups were followed up for two years. The adverse reaction, tumor recurrence rate and mortality rate of the patients were observed.Results Compared with the patients in routine chemotherapy group, the patients in sustained-release 5-FU implantation grou
