 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 6 CRS3144 Religious and Spiritual Education Lecture F6 – F7; FYB UG01 Course Description This course introduces the students to the theories and practices of religious and spiritual education. We will first look at the recent concerns about the need of spiritual education in the contemporary world. We will then examine some of the efforts that attempt to define spirituality and religion and to find out the relationship between them. Recent researches on childrens spirituality and theories of spiritual and religious educaiton will then be examined. Two special isssues, justice and peace and ecospirituality, will be given special attention. Lastly, we will inquire into the pedagogical issues in the field.
