Word order of English
IN linguistic description, word order usually refer to the sequence in which grammatical elements such as Subject, Verb, and Object occur in sentences.
A great deal of attention has been paid to the way in which languages vary the order of these elements, as part of typological studies. ;

3.1 Subject
All finite clauses (except imperative clauses) regularly contain a subject. The subject is characterized as follows. It:
1) is characteristically a noun phrase;
2) is in the nominative case of pronouns;
3) characteristically precedes the verb phrase;
4) requires the verb to agree with it in number and person.;
