Board Meeting, July 23, 2008 Agenda/Minutes Call to order at: 7:00 PM Officers present: President, Keith Williams Second Vice President Gary Robillard Secretary Carla Crane Treasurer and Webmaster Jerry Sprouse Toy Project Director Joe Scott Secretary’s report: Minutes from June 2008 were distributed. President’s report: Jerry built our library bookcase and it has been installed. Keith furnished 5 boxes of magazines and books and he has about three more boxes full. Carla volunteered to serve as librarian. Lynda Holt’s “cobbler’s bench”: Carla will contact Lynda Holt and work with her to refinish the cobbler’s desk. Drop Special Projects Director: Through discussion, it has been decided that the special projects director position will remain and be combined with Toy Project Directors position. Nominations for the Board Officers: The following nominations have been approved by the Board: President: Gary Robillard First Vice President: Lou Marcotte to be considered. (Gary will see if he is willing to serve.) Second Vice President: Mike Brown Secretary: Ron Colvin Treasurer/Webmaster: Jerry Sprouse Special Projects Director: Joe Scott These nominations will be submitted to the members at the General Meeting in August and additional nominations will be taken from the floor. Next meeting agenda: Ron is currently working on a speaker for the August general meeting. If that fails, plan B will be using the video equipment and playing an instructional tape. Keith will check will Lynda to see if we can use the library. What to do with treasury funds: It was decided that the funds could be used to purchase additional media and to partially fund a family picnic. Other options would be a Woodworker of The Year award or a small scholarships. These ideas were tabled until the treasury has more funds. The Family Picnic will be held at Barney Schwartz Park and coordinated by Carla. She will check with city hall regarding an alcohol
